Marie PickettWhat a week. Where to start?  As usual with the President because his scandal ridden train keeps rolling along.  I could really use a break from Trump. There are many recent Trump topics to choose from; like Kellyanne Conway’s disrespectful pose on the couch in the Oval Office in front of honored guests. If you feel that sitting on a couch in the Oval Office with your legs folded back and heels digging into upholstery is appropriate Conway, fine, but to do that in front of dozens of representatives from the country’s historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) is doubly disrespectful. Show a tidbit class and sit properly when company’s around – that meeting wasn’t a GOP girls’ slumber party.  It is also troubling that your discourteous posture was the most discussed topic to come out of that meeting. “It’s so sad.” So very sad.

In another consequence of Trump’s presidency, a man from Texas berated a worker at Wal-Mart for being a foreigner, telling her to “go back where you came from.” The woman is a naturalized U.S. citizen born in El Salvador who has been in the United States for 20 years. The man wanted a white person to wait on him. The video of that encounter is appalling! What’s even sadder, is that that bigot started yelling at the young woman because he saw an overweight black woman in a wheelchair. It is astounding how easily this white racist transitioned his hate to the Wal-Mart employee. The hate that is displayed in the video is tied directly to President Trump and his racist tirades during and after the election. The Wal-Mart man does not appear to be of Native American descent, he even refers to himself as a white man. Technically then, he is a foreigner. Maybe, he’ll go back where is ancestors came from since he refuses to act like an American.

Next up from last week’s agenda, we have Vice President Pence using his personal Aol email account while serving as the Governor of Indiana. Yes, he did use it for sensitive government information too, and that email account was hacked in 2016. Where is the GOP outrage now? Why isn’t the FBI hounding him? Why isn’t he being grilled for 12-hours straight, for days upon days? Remember how Hilary Clinton was crucified for using a personal email account while Secretary of State? Even though both Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice had both used personal email services when serving in the same office. Also, it is important to stress that some of Pence’s Aol emails were classified. It wasn’t until much later that they were declassified. Naturally, the U.S. Secretary of State’s emails are more sensitive than those of the Governor of Indiana, but Pence did use Aol email services for sensitive Indiana State Government communications. The fact is that Mr. Pence did the same thing he attacked Hilary Clinton for doing. Where is the outrage and the investigation? Why this double standard? The hypocrisy….

Not to be left out by his crew, President Trump decided to start tweeting again after a nice three-day break. He unleashed a Twitter attack President Obama. Trump is now demanding an investigation into his unsubstantiated claim that President Obama interfered in the 2016 election. This is just another deflecting Trump tactic. That’s Trump’s forte; deflect, deflect, deflect. Mind you, he makes these accusations without one iota of truth or evidence to back them up. There is absolutely nothing to corroborate his accusations regarding President Obama. The same cannot be said for the Russian interference in electing Trump.

Mr. Trump’s ties to Russia go back 30 years, and they remain tight to this day. That brings me to the thing I have found most disturbing from last week. Trump has no allegiance to America, or to the American people. That much is obvious by the cabinet currently inhabiting the White House.

On a recent Rachel Maddow broadcast, she breaks down how Donald Trump was having one of his many difficult financial times. This one was in 2008, and his longtime friend, Wilbur Ross, who is now Commerce Secretary, came to the rescue. Donald was looking to delay repayment of a very large loan to the Deutsche Bank, but the bank demanded payment. The Deutsche Bank is Trump’s largest lender (more on that later).  A brief history on Trump’s lender, the Deutsche Bank was recently found guilty of a ten billion-dollar Russian money laundering scheme. Russia levied a fine of only $5,000.00 dollars against the Deutsche Bank, while the U.S. fined the bank $630,000,000.00 million dollars.

Back to Trump’s very good friend, Wilbur Ross, who is the largest American investor in Cypress Bank. The two largest Russian investors in the Cypress Bank are Putin’s longtime friend and KGB ally, Viktor Vekselberg, and Russian fertilizer king, Dmitry Rybolovlev. Rybolovlev had gone through a quite nasty divorce. His ex-wife had been awarded 4.5 billion dollars. Trump needed money, very quickly. Rybolovlev needed to hide lots of money, also very quickly. So, in 2008, Rybolovlev bought a 33,000-square foot Florida estate from Trump for 95 million dollars – in cash. See how comrades solve their mutual problems?

There’s more on Trump’s finances from Mother Jones. As we know, Trump’s largest lender is Deutsche Bank with over 364 million dollars borrowed, the second largest Trump lender is Ladder Capital Strategies with over 284 million dollars borrowed. Ladder Capital Strategies is looking to sell itself to the highest bidder. Mother Jones notes that a real estate partnership which Trump is in, borrowed 950 million dollars from a Chinese Bank. That makes the man who is sitting in the Oval Office beholden to Russia and China. A search of Google for “Donald Trump and the Deutsche Bank” yields all kinds of interesting reading material. Trump has taken hypocrisy to new heights.

In my view, Trump, Pence, Ryan, Bannon, Ross, Sessions, McConnell, Conway, and the list just goes on and on, are all traitors to democracy. They are attempting to create an environment where hate, bigotry, sexism and animosity thrive. That is exactly what Hitler did. We cannot allow this. We must resist and persist. We, Americans, must remember that “love trumped hate” in our recent election by 2.86 million votes. We will not lose hope!

Everyday has brought more hatred and discourse to this once great nation. Every minute Trump spends in the White House literally tears away at the fabric of our once great country. Mr. Trump is directly responsible for the hate we are seeing. He is being aided by a complicit, hate mongering crew of Pence, Ryan, Bannon, Ross, Sessions, McConnell, Conway, and the list goes on and on.

I remember these words from my childhood: “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” That’s where true Americans’ allegiances lay.

We know where Trump and his crew’s allegiance are – and they are not with us, or the U.S. “It’s so sad,” to quote Trump.
